You could be that hero. You can be anyone you want to be in this world called Rathe, where you will quickly realize that a hero’s path can be lined with Flesh and Blood.
Mulligan’s Gaming Pub is proud to present Flesh and Blood—a brand-new hero-based trading card game designed to allow you, the player, to build a deck around the hero and class of your choosing. There are varying formats, design features, and characters available. It is your classic fantasy story but told in a fast-paced card gaming format. In order to help you fully understand this game, there are some core concepts and character introductions that Mulligan’s Gaming Pub wants to show you.

When You Start
Flesh and Blood decks are designed to ”start full.” Unlike many other card games, you don’t start at zero and work your way up. Instead of building resources or worrying about hitting land drops, your character will come to battle at full potential and health. It is up to you to not let your hero wear down. Card and decision management will play a key part in your heroes’ battle strategy.
When You’re Playing
Each round of decisions that you and your opponent make progress the story during gameplay. The entire game, both players can play no matter whose turn it is. Every card you play counts. Therefore, you’re likely to see and play every card you have in your 80-card deck. Seeing every card you have and needing them all means you need to make sure each card you have chosen serves a purpose.
How You Win
In a lot of card games, one lucky draw can win or lose you the game. The creators of Flesh and Blood, Legend Story Studios, saw 20 years’ worth of card gaming that played out like this. That’s why in Flesh and Blood you can’t win unless you’ve made multiple good decisions. There is no drawing for defeat or victory. This is a game based on knowledge, skill, and execution of decisions. One single “bomb” won’t win you the game.
Your Hero
Let’s be clear here, all those rules and facts are cool, but you want to know about your hero. Each hero has their own individual playing style, class, equipment, and skills. Your class, weapons, and strategy allow you to connect with this character. Your playing style represents your hero’s personality and class. It really is like role-playing with cards. Flesh and Blood has four different hero classes available, those heroes are:
- Bravo – Young, and Bravo, Showstopper, a Guardian
- Dorinthea – Young and Dorinthea Ironsong, a Warrior
- Katsu – Young and Katsu, the Wanderer, a Ninja
- Rhinar – Young and Rhinar, Reckless Rampage, a Brute
- Bonus Hero: Ira, Crimson Haze, a Vengeful Ninja (available exclusively in the FREE Welcome Deck 2019)
