Spring is here. Just after the rainy days start and the plants begin to bloom, Wizards of the Coast has budding new additions to Magic: the Gathering with Strixhaven, Time Spiral and more! Are you ready for a spring full of some new and old Magic the Gathering? Remastered cards, sets based on premade decks, and a whole new school of thought. Mulligans Gaming Pub has everything you need to know about all three new Magic: The Gathering releases.
Mulligan’s Gaming Pub has all the ins and outs about:
- Time Spiral Remastered
- Challenger
- Strixhaven
- Pre-Release Bundles and Info
Time Spiral Remastered
It was the year 2006 as I recall (cough *Googled because I’m old* cough). It was a wild time. A time of Time Spiral. Bloodbraid Elf, Primeval Titan, Young Pyromancer, Alesha Who Smites Death, Thoughtseize, Relentless Rats, True-Name Nemesis, Ponder, Path of Exile, and Silence were all staples from that set and, as of March 19, they’re all back into play. All that plus Slivers! Time Spiral Remastered is legal for any Constructed format where the cards are allowed, such as Modern.
Challenger Decks
Are you up to the challenge? Beginning April 2nd, Challenger will bring four different 75-card Standard decks that are ready to play the minute you crack the plastic. Each deck consists of a 60-card main deck with a 15-card sideboard. Play them as is or spice them up. These decks are Standard legal, but they also can be a great way for new players to learn to play, or for spell-slinging veterans to make a fun new addition to their collection.
Strixhaven: School of Mages
Unfortunately, you didn’t receive an owl from Hogwarts, but you can still attend a magical school—Strixhaven, which opens beginning with the pre-release the weekend of April 16.
Much like Ravnica guilds, Strixhaven is centered around five colleges, each based on two colors: (Boros) Lorehold, (Izzet) Prismari, (Simic) Quandrix, (Orzhov) Silverquill, and (Golgari) Witherbloom.
